Passanger Side Airbag Reads Off On Rearview Mirror

My 04 Silverado ext cab came with 40/20/40 and I just installed 8-way leather seats and a console from an 05 crew cab. The 04 had two plugs under the passanger side seat, one was the main black plug and the other one was a small plug with 2 wires (tan/black, pink). The airbag light was on, on the dash. After looking at the two seats I noticed the new seat did not have the small connector on it, so I pulled it off of the old seat and switched the black boxes from the old seat to the new seat. This turned the airbag light off on the dash. I then noticed the rear view mirror airbag light read off. The switch on the dash that controlls the airbag is set to on but the light still reads off. I really need some help!!

You would need to look at a GM Factory Service Manual set for your year/model vehicle to read how this works, see the wiring diagrams, etc. (Order from helminc.com or a GM dealer.)

The question I would have would be if there is a sensor in the passenger seat which would activate the airbag when a certain weight is on the seat, but otherwise turn the airbag off?

When I hooked the seat up, I didn't sit in it, so you are correct about a sensor that checks to see if someone is sitting in the seat. I went out and sat in the seat and cranked the truck and it works. I really appreciate the response, I was about to give up.

Thank you,

Trey
